For the past ten years, the Celtics have essentially controlled the 76ers. The Celtics can now safely criticize Philadelphia supporters off the floor and claim bragging rights on it.
As an illustration, during his appearance on comedian Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls program on YouTube, Jayson Tatum ridiculed the 76ers fan.
Although Hart, a passionate Philadelphia fan, warned Tatum that the 76ers stood in their way in their pursuit of a championship, the Celtics are among the favorites to win the crown in the following season.
Tatum, who has triumphed in each of his three playoff matches against Philadelphia, wasn’t having it.
Question: “Do they?” Tatum questioned inquisitively. “You say, “Good luck next time,” to them.”
Very good. It probably didn’t burn as much as Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals from a year ago, when Tatum led the C’s to the East Finals by outscoring Philadelphia by 51 points.
Tatum, however, had other surprises in store for Hart as well. His subsequent insult came in the shape of a Celtics jersey as a present.
Though it wasn’t Jayson’s, it was a Tatum jersey. For the 5-foot-2 Hart, Tatum donned a jersey from his newborn son Deuce.
Tatum viciously deadpanned to Hart, “They told me it might fit, but this is my son’s jersey.” And I am aware of your ardent Celtics fandom.
“This is how I get Deuce dressed in the morning,” Tatum retorted.
To his credit, Hart handled everything with grace. Not only did he put on the jersey, but he also thanked Deuce.
Actually, it doesn’t fit poorly. Is that something like a 2T? Hart queried. “Praise be to Deuce. I’m grateful.
In November, the Celtics will visit Philadelphia twice. For those, Hart probably won’t wear his “Deuce” jersey, but at least he now has some Celtics green in his closet.
