Kevin Durant’s iconic Nike KD 4 ‘Galaxy’ will return in 2024

Nike and other basketball brands are finally bringing back some legendary sneakers from players who are still active today. Lifetime athletes such as Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant will all have previous versions of their sneakers re-released between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. According to recent speculations, Nike will bring back one of the most sought Kevin Durant sneakers to date. Check out our Sneakers news for more information on future releases and breaking news!

The Nike KD 4 was released in 2011 and quickly became a hit in the basketball shoe market. At the time, the most popular signature models were those of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. However, the KD 4 was a major stride forward for Durant’s signature line and distinguished his model from the rest. Kevin Durant showcased his coolest pair of shoes yet during the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend in Orlando.

In 2012, Nike produced a full sneaker pack for their athletes around NBA All-Star Weekend. They designed some of the most hyped colors of all time, including the “Galaxy” Nike Foamposites, which sparked riots in the streets when they were released. While the silhouettes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James were similarly as crisp, none were as well-crafted as the Nike Kd 4 “Galaxy.” Nike will reintroduce them for the first time in Spring 2024.

This sneaker’s style code is Metallic Silver/Total Orange-Dark Grey. The complete top is covered in a NASA-themed metallic silver with a total orange design reminiscent of an astronaut’s space suit. The midsole is black with white speckling that resembles stars, and the sole is translucent blue ice. The strap across the upper draws attention to the sneaker, while Kevin Durant’s All-Star emblem can be found on the tongue. This shoe is already selling upwards of $500 on the secondhand market.

How to Purchase the Nike KD 4 ‘Galaxy’

While no official release date has been confirmed by Nike, these sneakers are scheduled to arrive in the spring of 2024, according to NiceKicks. If they follow in the footsteps of prior launches, they should be available through the Nike SNKRS app for $180. Follow Nike for updates on a firm release date.

Overall, this is one of the most classic Nike basketball shoes we’ve ever seen launched, and it’s fantastic that fans will have another opportunity to get their hands on a pair. What are your thoughts? Will you be getting up early on the release date for these?
