Fans in awe with Kevin Durant’ photo with WNBA’s Rookie of the Year Rhyne Howard

Kevin Durant and Rhyne Howard’s shot together on Monday night has social media buzzing.

The Atlanta Dream guard took a selfie with the Phoenix Suns player, who appeared to put his head on hers.

“Oh hey,” Howard wrote, adding an emoji of a smiling face with red hearts. Howard is the 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Durant, 35, also reposted the shot on his Instagram Story, which looked to be taken after the Suns’ 117-116 win over the Blazers at Footprint Center, where Howard, 23, was in attendance.

She also posted a photo of herself sitting in the stands at the game.

Some have questioned whether the two are dating after reading Howard’s article.

Durant and Howard have yet to respond to the speculation.

It’s likely that the two-time WNBA All-Star was simply rooting for Durant, as the two had known each other for quite some time.

Furthermore, the NBA champion has been outspoken in his support for the WNBA and women’s sports in general.

In January, Howard posted a photo of herself with Durant, who had his arm around her shoulder.

“Ya favorite player’s favorite player,” she wrote.

Howard later described how she got that shot, saying she sneaked in Durant’s DMs while watching one of his games.

“It had been brought to my attention that I was one of his favorite players and I was like, ‘Thee Kevin Durant loves me?'” In March, Howard mentioned it on Mercury’s “The It Girls” podcast.

“And so, during my break, I went to a game… I messaged him, saying, “I think I need to meet you officially, so can I come down?”

Howard went on to say that Durant had sent someone to get her.

“We talked a little bit,” she admitted. “He’s a very chill, nice guy who ended up taking that picture.”

“I tried to convince him to join me on a TikTok… but he was too tired.” I contacted him not long ago and said, ‘I guess I’ll have to replace my Nets jersey with a Suns jersey — and he was like, ‘Yeah, lol,’ and he was talking about how he was trying to go to some of our games and stuff like that.”

Howard also joked that she’d “100%” marry Durant’s former Warriors colleague Klay Thompson, whom she described as her favorite NBA player.

Durant had 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds in 15 minutes on Monday night.

Howard just finished a good season with Atlanta, averaging 17.5 points per game.

The season of the Dallas Dream concluded in the first round of the playoffs versus the Dallas Wings.

Florida women’s basketball announced earlier this month that Howard, a former Kentucky standout and the No. 1 choice in the 2022 WNBA draft, will be an assistant coach under Kelly Rae Finley and the team’s director of player management.
