Opposed last night to the Grizzlies for the last day of the NBA pre-season, the Bucks were able to count on their leader to clean up the defense of the Oursons. That gives 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and  2 blocks in 27 minutes. The Greek Freak is ready for the start of the 2023-24 season!Â
What to say ? Giannis played Giannis, that is to say, he was indefensible on almost every ball. Facing the Grizzlies, the Bucks were keen to finish their pre-season well. They succeeded with a victory, and above all with a great performance from their leader. The intentions are clear: Milwaukee will go for the break from the start of the season and Antetokounmpo will fight to pick up a shovelful of individual trophies. We think of the MVP, but also the title of Best Defender of the Year. Power drives, back-to-the-basket play… the guy’s offensive arsenal is ready, there’s more to it!
Behind the Greek Freak, Damian Lillard also performed despite notable clumsiness: 19 points on 6/14 shooting including 2/9 from 3-point range. The real surprise came from the bench, with 18 points at 78% shooting from MarJon Beauchamp. The sophomore from the Bucks could well improve his status in the group by repeating this type of match next week. Of course, the start of serious things will also bring adjustments to playing time and we will have to fight, but nothing is impossible if the satisfactory statistical lines follow one another.
