The Warriors fought hard to reduce an 18-point deficit to just three points, but they couldn’t close the gap any further. It was their only preseason loss, highlighting their overall strong performance leading up to the regular season.

The matchup between Stephen Curry and rookie Victor Wembanyama, who stands at an imposing 7’4″ with an eight-foot wingspan, was a notable highlight. Curry, standing at 6’3″, faced a significant height disadvantage but still gave his best effort. Wembanyama made an immediate impact for the Spurs, scoring 12 points and recording three blocks in the first quarter alone. He finished the game as the leading scorer with 19 points and added five blocks in just under 21 minutes of play.

Curry, who had an explosive 30-point game earlier in the preseason, had a quieter outing, scoring 11 points on 11 shots in 20 minutes of play. Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga continued his strong preseason performance. He had previously led the Warriors in scoring in their first three preseason games. Against the Spurs, Kuminga started the game with an impressive first half, scoring 12 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting. He showcased his skills with a fadeaway jumper over Wembanyama, using a spin move to free himself. Kuminga finished the game with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists in 21 minutes of play.
