Bruno Fernandes, the captain of MU, shared a picture of himself, Varane, Lindelof, and Tom Heaton at a cafe with goalie De Gea, his former teammate, on social media.

The Spanish goalie’s 12-year relationship with MU came to an end in July when his contract ran out. For 2022–2023 he was the Premier League Golden Glove winner.

Erik ten Hag, the coach, signed Andre Onana from Inter Milan to take De Gea’s spot. The Cameroonian goalie, though, has not been playing well since the 2023–24 season started. He continued to make errors, which led to the Red Devils’ disastrous start.

Man United supporters have been speculating that the team would attempt to re-sign De Gea, who is now without a job. After the 32-year-old goalie showed up to Old Trafford and had dinner with Sergio Reguilon, a player on loan at MU, rumors began to circulate. The two looked to be at a Rebels Gaming eSports tournament; Rebels Gaming is owned by the Spanish goalie. Since departing England, De Gea is thought to have resided at the family home in Madrid with his wife Edurne Garcia and their 2.5-year-old daughter Yanay.
