NBA fans defend LeBron James showing proof as Reggie Jackson ‘broke ankles’ of KING

Reggie Jackson appeared to induce LeBron James to fall before shooting down a 3 over him when the Denver Nuggets faced the Los Angeles Lakers on Opening Night.

However, video evidence has emerged demonstrating that the Nuggets guard did not genuinely humiliate LeBron by leaving him with “broken ankles” on the play.

Before the viral play, Jamal Murray found Jackson open in the corner early in the second half.

To contest his shot, James closed in on the 6-foot-2 guard.

Jackson stepped on LeBron's foot, tripping him up before knocking down a 3 over the four-time NBA champion

However, following what seemed to be a jab step by the Nuggets star, the four-time NBA champion went to the ground – before Jackson shot a 3 that put Denver up 40-22.

Many viewers of the game took to social media to taunt LeBron for having his “ankles broken” by Jackson.

Many NBA fans mocked James for having his 'ankles broken' immediately after the play

That signifies a defender was so thoroughly fooled by the player with the ball that they lost their balance and fell to the hardwood.

Some even argued that Father Time was catching up with James and that he should “retire.”

But other level-headed NBA fans rallied to the Lakers forward’s defense, uploading video of the play from a different angle.

The footage showed Jackson fake a shot before stepping on James’ foot, causing the four-time MVP to tumble.

“Reggie ‘makes’ LeBron fall before canning the 3 to add insult to injury,” commented a user on X.

“Watch the replay, and you’ll see he almost sprains his ankle stepping on LeBron’s foot, which is what caused LBJ to go down.”

“Clear offensive foul NOT called,” said another. Pathetic.”

And a third person said: “Reggie Jackson stepped on LeBron’s foot and people gonna act like he got his ankles broken.”

Since last year’s playoffs, when the Nuggets swept James and company in the conference finals and then won the NBA title, there has been some animosity between Denver and Los Angeles.

During the June title parade, a Colorado sportscaster referred to head coach Mike Malone as “the Lakers’ daddy,” increasing the rivalry.
