Jamal Murray couldn’t stop himself as he heard the Nuggets fans chanting late in the Nuggets’ 119-107 season-opening victory over the Lakers.
Murray, who was leaning on the scorer’s table, exhibited a shocked expression when he first heard the “Who’s your daddy?” chants from the crowd before smiling and pointing to coach Michael Malone.
“This is you,” Murray said, laughing. “This is your fault.”
As you can see, Malone and Murray high-fived as they laughed it off as the clamor grew louder.
During the team’s title parade this past offseason, Nuggets broadcaster Vic Lombardi claimed that Malone “came into this world as the son of a coach, but in these playoffs, he became the Lakers’ daddy.”
Murray had another good game against the Lakers, scoring 21 points with six assists on 8-of-13 shooting in the season opener.
