Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic will both miss Liverpool’s game against Toulouse tomorrow, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
During his news conference for the Europa League match, Klopp confirmed that neither Bajcetic nor Thiago were training.
Klopp did, however, have some good news.
According to the manager, Andy Robertson had a successful surgery that went as well as it could have.
Furthermore, the Liverpool boss said that Cody Gakpo has been in full training since Sunday.
Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: “Robbo had surgery and everything went well, as well as it could have.” We don’t know how long it will take to recover.
“Cody Gakpo has been in full training since Sunday and is available.”
“Thiago and Bajcetic are not in team training.”
Although Liverpool will still be without Thiago and Bajcetic, Klopp might benefit greatly from having Gakpo at his disposal.
The Dutch international was injured against Tottenham Hotspur, but he was already looking threatening.
Liverpool will still be without Thiago and Bajcetic, according to Klopp.
Dirk Kuyt has been speaking about Gakpo’s debut at Liverpool and his future prospects.
Kuyt recently stated that he still believes Gakpo has the potential to be a 20-goal striker for the Reds.
Kuyt acknowledged that Gakpo faced a difficult assignment when he first arrived in England, being thrown immediately into the starting lineup in January.
And, despite his success, Kuyt believes he is now ready to perform at his peak.
Klopp has had to deal with an unprecedented number of significant injuries in recent seasons.
However, thanks to his summer additions, Klopp is now well placed to deal with the absence of Thiago and Bajcetic at Liverpool.
Ryan Gravenberch is finally finding his footing alongside players like Alexis Mac Allister.
And Liverpool fans will be ecstatic to see another 90 minutes of Dominik Szoboszlai when the opportunity arises.
The Hungary international has settled quickly and appears to be an important part of this team.
