You know how Nikola Jokic does foolish things every now and then? And not in a “wow, look at how funny it is that he clearly wants the NBA playoffs to end so he can go back to his horses” manner, but rather in a “how in the world did he just do that?” kind of way.
Guess what, people: we got another one from Jokic on Friday night. The Denver Nuggets are in Memphis to play the Grizzlies, and Jokic was ready to inbound the ball following a Memphis turnover during the third quarter. Jokic received the ball in the backcourt and appeared to be ready to pass it to Reggie Jackson.
Instead, Jokic looked down the floor and saw something he liked, so he threw the ball towards his own rim. The camera barely caught up in time to show Aaron Gordon relaxing out over there and getting behind the entire Grizzlies defense, allowing him to run up, take the ball, and slam.
With how well he connects on deep shots, you have to wonder if the Denver Broncos will ever contact Jokic and see if he can fill in at center.
