According to reports, Luka Doncic spent $166,000 on a flight back to Slovenia for the holidays

After a disappointing season with the Dallas Mavericks, it appears Luka Doncic couldn’t wait to get away and paid $166,000 to return to Slovenia for Easter.

This season, Luka Doncic had maybe the most disappointing season of any MVP-caliber player. The Dallas Mavericks elected to tank at the last minute, missing out on even the play-in tournament. And it appears that Luka was eager to flee.

Luka Doncic is from Slovenia, and he wanted to return home as soon as the regular season concluded. But he did it in style, flying to the Easter break on a jet fit for one of the NBA’s best stars.

“He arrived in Slovenia’s capital on a “Gulfstream G650″ aircraft that only the richest people can afford,” according to Basket News. “This luxury plane costs 60,000,000 euros, and there are only 200 of them in the world.”

“Renting this plane, specifically an hour per flight, costs 15,500 euros, so it’s simple to figure out how much money Luka had to pay for the flight home.” Flight time is around nine and a half hours. In other words, Luka Doncic paid roughly 150,000 euros to return home.”

150,000 euros is almost $166,000, which is a large sum to spend on a single airline flight. Luka, on the other hand, has recently completed the first year of his new 5-year, $215 million contract, so this is practically pocket change for him. Luka Doncic has received criticism for his defense as well as his complaints to referees. Given the luxury he’s riding in, he’s probably not too concerned about the noise at the time.

It’s no surprise that Doncic and his crew chose this long-range luxury aircraft. Dallas and Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, are over 5,500 miles apart. Luka Doncic is undoubtedly living life to the fullest right now.

His priority will be to take some time away from basketball to recharge. After then, the superstar must begin his preparations for the following season. Doncic’s ceiling is to be a Top 10 player in NBA history, and in order for that to happen, he must return extremely strong next season.
