‘There’s no greater honor’: Jaylen Brown gets real on joining Team USA for 2024 Olympics

The NBA season 2023-2024 is about to begin, with media days taking place across the league. The Boston Celtics are one of the most exciting teams to watch, especially now that Jrue Holiday has been acquired in a huge trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. Before the season begins, Celtics standout Jaylen Brown expressed his desire to compete for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics and explained what that means to him (h/t Daniel Donabedia of ClutchPoints).

“There is no higher honor than playing for USA Basketball… Being able to represent your community… It would be fantastic to be able to participate.”

Jaylen Brown was not on the roster in 2020, but his teammate Jayson Tatum was and will be in 2024. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has expressed his desire to participate for Team USA in 2024, so there might be a slew of huge names for Team USA next summer. Other talents that could join LeBron James on Team USA include Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, and Brown would be honored to represent his country and compete for a gold medal.

Brown is coming off his finest NBA season, which helps. He had a career-high 26.6 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. With Holiday acquired in a big trade with the Blazers, and the 1-2-3 combination of Holiday, Tatum, and Brown, the Celtics have emerged as early candidates for the Eastern Conference title, alongside the Bucks.
