On Wednesday, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings in a close game. The Warriors won thanks to a crucial midrange jumper made by Klay Thompson.
Green was very complimentary about the team’s early-season camaraderie following the game. Green was critical of the team dynamic from the previous season and noted that Golden State’s new additions have already made a difference. He mentioned that the group is already enjoying each other.
“Last year, we had an awful team as far as chemistry goes, Green said. “Last year was horse shit. Hard to come to work. Not fun. This year, you see the joy on guys’ face when they come in the building. This is a group that likes being together.”
Naturally, the vocal forward might be alluding to his issues from the previous campaign involving Jordan Poole. At practice, the two got into a well-publicized altercation. During the fight, Green struck Poole in the face with a punch.
Draymond Green received a lot of flak from NBA fans for his recent comments about having “awful chemistry.” There were many humorous responses. Green was criticized by many for his apparent lack of self-awareness. See one fan’s and many others’ responses below.
“Maybe it’s because you punched one of ur teammates and never apologized” one fan wrote.
The Warriors were a team that advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals but lost in six games, despite having a lackluster team dynamic in the previous campaign. Last year, the Warriors were one win away from the Western Conference Finals. Klay’s remarks demonstrate why any NBA team would be lucky to have him. Even in the worst of circumstances, he is an eternal optimist who can find the good in everything.
For the Golden State Warriors, the present is more important than the past. The Warriors are currently leading the Pacific Division and are thriving.
