The NBA Season Tournament will consist of a 30-team, 67-game NBA Cup tournament, as decided by league executives last summer.

NBA Season-Long Tournament Award

Each member of the NBA Cup-winning team and team will receive $500,000. The winning team’s players will split a payout of $500,000, while the runners-up will get $200,000. In the meantime, $50,000 will be awarded to the losing players in the quarterfinals and $100,000 to the losing teams in the semifinals.

Even though most people support the tournament, there is often pushback against the changes, and some coaches and players are trying to figure out how it will all work—especially given the current schedule.
