In the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored his 10,000th career point.
Tatum, 25, is the youngest player in team history to reach 10,000 points. Antoine Walker, who was 26 at the time, held the previous record.
Tatum drove into the lane, turned, and made the layup with 5:05 remaining in the quarter while drawing a foul on Brooklyn guard Cam Thomas. Tatum subsequently made the free throw, giving Boston a 52-48 lead.
This season, Tatum, who was picked third overall in 2017, is averaging 29.8 points per game.
