Luka Doncic presents a gift to a patient. Children’s Health provided the photo.
This week, Luka Doncic surprised 80 youngsters at youngsters’s Health in Dallas and Plano with gifts.
Doncic, a Preston Hollow resident and Dallas Mavericks guard, donated gifts to the patients to cheer them up.
“I really wish I could have been there to meet and talk to the kids but hopefully this surprise brought a smile to their faces and encourages them to stay strong,” Doncic said in a press release. “I just want all the kids and parents to know I’m thinking of them.”
To safeguard the children’s health, he did not personally present the gifts. He did, however, arrange for medical personnel to deliver a pair of Jordans, a Jordan drawstring bag, a sweater and socks, a message, and a signed photo. A “Luka & Bobi” coloring book was also available. Each patient also received a pizza with the number 77 written in pepperoni on it.
The crew that assisted with the deliveries also received a pizza.
This isn’t our neighbor’s first time giving back to the neighborhood. He gave 100 pairs of Jordan sneakers to medical professionals at UT Southwestern earlier this year. Doncic also helped rehabilitate basketball courts in his home nation of Slovenia.
