Al Hilah of the Saudi Pro League just signed a contract with former PSG player Neymar. The Brazilian player will earn $174 million during his two-year contract in Saudi Arabia.
Neymar also had the opportunity to meet NBA sensation Giannis Antetokounmpo here. During their photo shoot, the NBA player joked that he would make another billion-dollar agreement with Neymar to relocate to the Saudi Pro League. Giannis, who won the NBA MVP award in 2019 and 2020, captioned a photo of himself and Neymar on Instagram. Saudi Pro League’s best.
Giannis’ Instagram post
Giannis is currently playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. He grew up in Greece and also shared that not basketball but soccer was his greatest childhood passion.
“If I didn’t have to play basketball, I would definitely become a professional soccer player,” Giannis shared.
“The team I admire most is Arsenal, and my favorite player is Thierry Henry,” he continued. “However, I also really liked PSG at the time when Zlatan Ibrahimovic moved. But Arsenal is still the team I love the most.”
Since Cristiano Ronaldo came to Al-Nassr earlier this year, Neymar is one of the notable names heading to the Saudi Pro League to play with significant perks. Teams in this event even attempted to sign one of the brightest young talents in football today, Kylian Mbappe, but were unsuccessful. They even offered Mbappe $776 million for one year of service but did not gain Mbappe’s approval.
The NBA player quipped on social network X that Al Hilah may recruit him since he resembled Mbappe.
When confronted with this predicament, Giannis remarked that he would gladly relocate to Saudi Arabia to play and receive that money. The NBA player said that if he replaced Mbappe and transferred to the Saudi Pro League, no one would recognize him since they look so similar.
