The Boston Celtics have the best record in the Eastern Conference right now. Jayson Tatum is averaging 27.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 35.9 minutes per game for the 2023-2024 season.
According to Inside The Celtics, Tatum is willing to forego his individual scoring in order for the team to succeed.
“We have a really, really good team, and I understand we have five guys who can average double figures.” So it’ll look a little different each night, which is fine.”
Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White are also in double figures in scoring. Tatum mentioned the necessity of discovering new ways to influence a game.
“Some nights, other players may really have it going, and we just have to find the right balance… Tonight may not be your offensive night, but what else can you do to influence the game?”
Tatum has the highest plus-minus rating in the NBA this season. The four-time All-Star, on the other hand, isn’t too concerned with the metric.
“I just try to make good things happen when I’m on the floor and try to impact winning.”
