Connor Bedard, a forward for the Chicago Blackhawks, is having a great NHL debut. On Sunday, he played another outstanding game, joining some incredible company.
Bedard, who is still only eighteen, scored twice on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The following game, the team played the Florida Panthers, and Bedard scored twice in the first two periods of the game.
The NHL claims that Bedard is the first player to have multiple-goal games in a row as an eighteen-year-old since David Pastrnak, a star player for the Boston Bruins, accomplished the feat in the 2014–15 campaign.
In the past 25 years, only two other 18-year-olds have reached that milestone: Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene.
Bedard is the first rookie for the Blackhawks to have multiple goals in a row since Dominik Kubalik did so in the 2019–20 season.
NBC Sports Chicago reports that just nine rookies for the Blackhawks have reached that milestone overall.
