Bedard Creates (An Additional) History, Lardis Again, University Production, and Additional Blackhawks Bullets

On Sunday afternoon, the young sensation from the Blackhawks, Conner Bedard, elevated the Conner Bedard Experience to a whole new level with two absurd goals. I was thinking about comps as I watched a replay of the game from last night, along with additional footage and angles of the two plays that resulted in the puck going into the net. Who wrote the plays that I can still remember?

There was something Pavel Datsyuk-like about the first goal, which involved stripping off a defender and then a filthy wrister. I couldn’t think of a player, or players, that came to mind for the second one whose puck work in traffic (shooting across the crease while reaching over the stick of the same defender) could accomplish that. Opinions?

On Monday, the Blackhawks will work out. We’ll check in to see if Taylor Hall and/or Andreas Athanasiou, who was not in action on Sunday, have any updates.

For a little while, how about we discuss some other Blackhawks and potential Blackhawks? After all, there are currently 22 other players on the NHL roster and many more are on the horizon.

Regarding even strength shots, which line did the Blackhawks play the best on Sunday? In that sense, Lukas Reichel, Jason Dickinson, and Taylor Raddysh’s second line was excellent. Natural Stat Trick indicated that Raddysh (8 shots for, 2 against) had the best ratio on the team, followed by Dickinson (6 shots for, 2 against) and Reichel (8 shots for, 4 against).

Nick Lardis is one of the young players who is currently gaining steam. He equaled Bedard’s two goals for the Brantford Bulldogs in the OHL and continued his point streak to 11 games. Lardis, who was selected with the 67th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, has scored 12 goals in his first 17 games since the draft.

Do you know who’s currently positioned directly behind Lardis in the OHL standings? Gavin Hayes scored this past weekend, making it 11 goals in 16 games. In eighteen games, Martin Misiak has nine markers. I love how the offense is piling up!

Connor Bedard’s two goals Sunday gave him nine on the season.

Yes, on Saturday Jim Harbaugh was unable to lead the football team. However, after defeating Penn State, they headed straight to the hockey game when they got back to Ann Arbor, where Harbaugh met them to watch Frank Nazar and company at work. Nazar made it on our College Three Stars this morning after having a fantastic weekend. Who else enjoyed their weekend? Visit and check out the performance of the Hawks’ best college prospects.
