Last night, Kyrie Irving had one of the finest offensive games in recent memory. Kyrie Irving scored 60 points to help the Brooklyn Nets win their game against the Orlando Magic. Irving delivered a genuinely magnificent effort, allowing him and teammate Kevin Durant to make NBA history.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have become the first NBA teammates to score 50 points or more in consecutive games. Durant scored 53 points in a Saturday game against the New York Knicks. And Kyrie scored 60 points last night against the Magic. They are the first and only NBA tandem to achieve so.

Given the tremendous duos we’ve seen in the NBA, such as Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, and LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, it’s a little surprising that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are the first to accomplish this in the league’s long history.

To be fair, given their talent, Kyrie and KD crushing their opponents in successive games is not a huge surprise. Both Durant and Irving are regarded as two of the league’s most gifted players. And in just two days, they’ve demonstrated why they’re both deserving of that honor.

Kyrie’s performance astounded fans. And Durant even encouraged viewers to re-watch his performance. The Nets will be hoping that Kyrie will be permitted to play at home again soon, particularly in time for the playoffs. The Nets’ big three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and newcomer Ben Simmons have enormous potential, and the Nets will be excited to see them on the court together.
