According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Steph Curry will not play for the Golden State Warriors against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 14. Due to knee pain, the 35-year-old guard will miss the game. In addition to playing their second in-season tournament match, Golden State will be seeking revenge for their defeat to Minnesota.
Curry has been the team’s best player for the first 11 games played by the Warriors, playing at an All-NBA caliber from the start. Averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.9 points, the shooting guard is very effective. He is making 48.8% of his field goals and 44.6% of his three-pointers. Chris Paul will probably start for the Warriors in their next game now that Curry is out.
When Paul is the main ball handler in an offensive scheme that emphasizes picks and rolls, he performs at his peak level. What changes Steve Kerr makes to his overall offensive game plan and how he wants the offense to get going will be interesting to watch.
The fans of Golden State will be hoping that Curry can get back into the starting lineup for their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 16.
