The Blackhawks’ first home game of the season will take place at the United Center on Saturday when they take on the Golden Knights.
And there are Connor Bedard, No. 98 sweaters everywhere in the Madhouse on Madison.
It’s difficult to accept. It’s incredible. Before the game, Tom Bedard, the father of the player, spoke with NBC’s Mike Berman about some of that occurring in Regina, but not quite to this extent.
Almost all of Bedard’s games this season have been attended by his family. The family’s many live reactions have been of them grimacing in the hopes that their son’s shots will find the back of the net.
So far, only one has found the back of the net: a wrap-around goal in his second career game against the Boston Bruins. He hasn’t stopped trying to shoot. All he’s been able to do is not net as many as he would like to.
“He appears to be competent. Bedard’s father stated, “He’d like to be contributing a little more offensively.” He’s taken a few glances. He’s not had the best of luck. I hope that resolves itself. But he’s been right thus far. His focus is more on what he’s doing on his own, not what other people think, as he has no control over that. Hopefully, he can keep himself in check when skating.”
