The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Houston Rockets in California on Sunday night.

LeBron James made NBA history during the game by climbing up the all-time steals list.

With 2,205 career steals going into the evening, James has now surpassed Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler (2,207) to take eighth place on the list.

Scottie Pippen, the six-time NBA Champion, will be the next player James passes (2,307).

James had averaged 25.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game going into the evening while shooting 39.7% from three-point range and 57.2% from the field in 12 games.

With a 7-6 record through 13 games, the Lakers are currently ranked seventh in the Western Conference. They most recently defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 107-75.

They will play their next game in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday night against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, after the Rockets.

James, who is still regarded as one of the NBA’s top ten players, will probably be playing in his 20th consecutive All-Star Game.

He is a four-time NBA Champion currently in his 21st season in the NBA (sixth with the Lakers).

James has averaged 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game over 1,433 regular season games. He also shoots 50.5% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range.
