NBA star James Harden, known for his impressive career trajectory from Sixth Man of the Year with the Oklahoma City Thunder to MVP with the Houston Rockets, has made significant accomplishments both on and off the court. Harden, now in his 17th professional season, has secured lucrative contracts, including a notable $228 million extension with the Rockets in 2017.
With a portion of his earnings, Harden purchased a $10 million home in Houston, known as Memorial Modern. However, he currently resides in Los Angeles, playing for the Clippers. Despite the distance, it is expected to be easier for him to travel home compared to his time with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Harden acquired the Houston mansion, spanning 26,000 square feet and situated on 3.5 acres in the Rivercrest neighborhood, in 2019. Forbes spoke to Kevin Frankel, co-president of the building company responsible for constructing the house, who expressed that Harden was the ideal buyer. According to Frankel, Harden’s energy and penchant for a fun, resort-style atmosphere align with the house’s design.
The mansion boasts a striking modern art gallery aesthetic, with predominantly white exteriors featuring a long, curved entrance, carport, and multiple terraces. The incorporation of exposed steel throughout the house adds an interesting contrast to the predominantly white design.
Inside, the kitchen stands out with two white marble islands, complemented by white cabinets and black appliances for balance. The kitchen seamlessly leads to the pool area, which features vibrant purple cabanas.
The master room showcases vaulted ceilings and a unique fireplace with various textures, deviating slightly from the overall style by incorporating hardwood floors. The adjacent master bathroom aligns with the modern art museum theme, boasting white marble floors and other white elements.
The house exhibits wooden pieces along the roof, and even includes a barber chair for Harden’s personal use. Notable features of the residence include a full bar, a wine room, and an in-home theater, among other impressive amenities.
