Nikola Jokic has undergone a significant shift during the last decade. The Denver Nuggets player has always been overweight, but his diet and training have helped him lose weight and dominate the NBA.
One of the NBA star’s primary concerns has been his weight. He isn’t as athletic as many other players in the league, which contributed to his selection in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft.
Fortunately for the Nuggets, Jokic has undergone a remarkable change in recent years. He now appears to be in much better shape than before and is poised to win his first NBA championship.
During the coronavirus lockdown, Nikola Jokic lost a significant amount of weight.
Nikola Jokic, unlike many others, lost weight during the coronavirus lockdown. The NBA suspended the season for a few months in 2020, giving the Denver Nuggets superstar time to get in shape.
Jokic weighed 284 pounds when the season began, and his weight and shape were huge concerns for the Nuggets. He did, however, lose 20 to 25 pounds over the hiatus and looked fantastic when he returned to action.
“He sent me a picture after working out in the gym and following a strict diet,” Nuggets president Tim Connelly said at the time. “I’m not wearing a shirt.” He has abs. I’ve never seen him with abs.”
Jokic averaged 19.9 points per game during the regular season. However, his scoring average skyrocketed in the playoffs, rising all the way to 24.4 points.

Unsurprisingly, Jokic’s contributions aided the Nuggets’ lengthy playoff run. They progressed to the Western Conference finals before being defeated in five games by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Felipe Eichenberger should also be credited for Nikola Jokic’s weight loss journey. Eichenberger has served as the Nuggets’ strength and conditioning coach since 2011.
“I don’t want to eat badly because I know it’s not just me,” Jokic said of his eating habits. “It’s also him [Eichenberger].” I don’t want to let him down.”
