Due to his outstanding shooting, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors—also referred to as one of the “Splash Brothers”—now owns a title and a flashy home.
The shooting guard not only helped the Warriors win the NBA Finals, but he also took some time early this year to buy a $2.2 million Dana Point property with an ocean view.
Situated in the Capo Beach area, the Spanish-style ranch home occupies more than a quarter of an acre. It has a central courtyard with a pool and Jacuzzi, two guest casitas, and a 100-foot-wide terrace with unhindered views of the ocean.
The family room/dining room of the one-story house features an exposed beam ceiling and a fireplace. In addition, there is a lounge area, pool table, and wet bar in the entertainment wing. This oceanfront master suite, measuring over 2,400 square feet, has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and separate bathrooms for each person.
Documents show that after the house was put up for sale in December at the asking price, a contract was signed within ten days.
According to the Multiple Listed Service, Michael Boyd of Coldwell Banker was the listed agent. In February, Casey Wootan of Century 21 OMA closed the sale for Thompson. Two two-car garages flank the front of the house.
Mychal Thompson, the son of the legendary Los Angeles Lakers forward-center, had a fantastic regular season, averaging 21.7 points per game and shooting 43.9% from outside the arc. As a result, he was selected to his fourth NBA all-star team. In November, the 25-year-old signed a four-year contract worth approximately $70 million with the Warriors.
