After James Harden suffered a hamstring injury early in the series, the Nets may be without star player Kyrie Irving for some time. Irving is expected to miss at least Tuesday’s Game 5 and possibly longer.
During the second quarter of Game 4 on Sunday, Irving stumbled and hit Giannis Antetokounmpo’s foot. As a result, he stayed on the field for the subsequent possession. Irving would carefully, but firmly, leave the scene after suffering the injuries.
With Irving out of the game for the duration, the Nets lost both the game and the series against the Bucks, which ended that evening at 2-2.
Following the game, Irving was seen wearing a walking boot and crutches, according to Rachel Nichols of ESPN.
After more testing on Monday, the Nets guard was declared out of Tuesday’s Game 5 against the Bucks. It is “no idea” for Nets coach Steve Nash if Irving will be able to return for the remainder of the series.
