James, who turns 39 in December, scored his 38,388th point in a game against the Thunder in February, moving past Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring lead.
Abdul-Jabbar played in 1,797 NBA games, while James was playing in his 1,519th game in the regular season and the playoffs on Monday.
James had the lowest amount of minutes played in a whole season of his 21-year career before he started play on Monday, averaging 33.9 per game.
