The Denver Nuggets will get access to their point guard on Wednesday. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Jamal Murray will face the Houston Rockets after missing 11 games due to a hamstring ailment.
The reigning champions started strong, winning six of their first seven games with Murray, but have since gone 6-5 without him to finish 12-6. Only the 13-6 Minnesota Timberwolves have had a better record in the Western Conference. They’ll be hoping to get things going again now that their third-leading scorer is back.
While Murray’s scoring is down this season, he is shooting a career-high 43.3?% from deep and distributing a career-high 7.4 assists per game through seven games. His shot creation has the potential to help Denver tie the season series against Houston’s much-improved defense.
Last season, the Rockets had the NBA’s third-worst scoring defense; this season, they have the league’s third-best scoring defense. Houston is 1-0 against Denver this season, but the Nuggets have won four straight home games against the Rockets when Murray plays.
It’s unclear whether Murray will have a time limit.
