‘History Maker’ – Nikola Jokic moved up on the NBA’s all-time assists list

The Denver Nuggets will play the Sacramento Kings in California on Saturday evening.

During the game, Nikola Jokic created NBA history by climbing the all-time assists list.

Jokic had 4,141 career assists entering the game, and he has now surpassed Hall of Famer Reggie Miller (4,141) for sole ownership of 116th on the list.

Following Miller, Jokic’s next target will be David Wesley (4,159).

In 19 games, Jokic averaged 28.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 56.8% from the field and 30.4% from three-point range.

The Nuggets had a 14-6 record in their first 20 games, putting them in first place in the Western Conference.

They are on a four-game winning streak and most recently defeated the Phoenix Suns 119-111 (on Friday).

Jokic had 21 points, five rebounds, 16 assists, one steal, and two blocks in 35 minutes of action, shooting 9/18 from the field.

Following the Kings, the Nuggets will travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers on Wednesday evening.

Jokic is in his seventh season with the Nuggets and is widely regarded as the finest player in the league.

He is coming off a season in which he led the team to the first seed in the Western Conference (and the NBA Championship in 2023).

The two-time MVP averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 63.2% from the field and 38.3% from beyond the arc.
