Jokic has led the Nuggets to a 14-7 record this season, missing only one game and a half due to back pain and another due to an ejection. Due to Jamal Murray’s injury troubles this fall and Aaron Gordon’s missed games, Joker has being relied on more than usual. The defending champions and reigning NBA Finals MVP have mostly continued where they left off, dominating when healthy.

During his 2021-2022 season, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists. In 2022-23, his total numbers were lower, but his efficiency was higher. Now that he has the totals and efficiency, he is on pace for what could be the greatest season in the sport’s history. Jokic’s speed would propel him to 2,261 points, 996 rebounds, and 765 assists in 82 games, feats never accomplished by LeBron James, Michael Jordan, or any other NBA legend.

Jokic is presently the favorite to win the NBA MVP award, with Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Giannis Antetokounmpo lagging.
