It would be an understatement to say Nikola Jokic struggled against the Clippers. With a 9/32 shooting night, he experienced the worst shooting night of his career.
Following the loss, Jokic addressed the media, addressing the bad shooting night.
“I don’t know,” Jokic responded. “I was taking the shots I normally do.” They played excellent defense on certain possessions. It’s a little bit of everything when you miss 25 shots.”
On Wednesday night, Nikola Jokic was missing some really easy shots against the Clippers. Some shots were at the rim, while others were jumpers or wide-open threes. The most unexpected misses came at the rim, where he appeared to be a bit off. Every player has bad games, and Jokic was just in his own head last night.
Despite his dismal shooting on what could be called a bad night, Jokic was outstanding against the Clippers. He finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists while remaining a +1 in a nine-point loss.
It wasn’t just Jokic’s shooting that cost the Nuggets against the Clippers; it was also the team’s failure to find Michael Porter Jr. for long amounts of time. Porter Jr. clearly had the touch on Wednesday night, scoring 18 points on 7/8 shooting, but he was not used in the fourth quarter.
The Denver Nuggets will play the Houston Rockets on Friday night.
