The Boston Celtics hosted the New York Knicks in Massachusetts on Friday evening.
The Celtics won the game 133-123, but Jaylen Brown was removed midway through the fourth quarter.
Brown spoke with the media after the game and was asked about the ejection (the entire clip can be viewed here via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston).
Brown: “I wish I had gotten my money’s worth.” “I always imagined my first career ejection would be something more exciting, like a tussle or something; guys getting folded up and falling to the ground, not some overly emotional ref having a bad day.”
Brown ended with 17 points, four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes of action, shooting 7/13 from the field and 2/5 from three-point range.
In 20 games, the former Cal standout is averaging 21.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 46.2% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range.
The Celtics moved to 16-5 in their first 21 games, putting them in first place in the Eastern Conference.
They are 7-3 in their previous ten games and a perfect 10-0 in their past ten games at home in Boston.
Following their game against the Knicks, the Celtics will welcome Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday evening.
The Knicks fell to 12-9 in their first 21 games, putting them in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
