10 years ago today, Giannis made his first start. Well done!!

Half of the basketball-watching world may still be unsure how to pronounce Giannis Antetokounmpo’s name. Fewer still can spell it without using one of the many search engines available on the Internet.

But how many people paid attention to the Greek small forward’s rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks?

If you haven’t, I don’t blame you. While he’s certainly worth looking into, Milwaukee has been the worst team in the league, lacking premier talent while failing to play an entertaining brand of basketball.

That, however, is no longer an excuse.

Antetokounmpo has incredible potential, which is why he was drafted just outside the lottery despite never playing truly high-level basketball. The 19-year-old’s game was expected to take years to develop, and he wasn’t expected to contribute much until 2015-16 or so.

Whoops. That’s all right.

Good for you for keeping an eye on him all along. Continue to do so, and invest time so that you can say you were the first to jump on the Antetokounmpo bandwagon.

If you haven’t seen him yet, you should do so right away. To make things easier, here’s a link to Milwaukee’s schedule.
