During the tense moments of the fourth quarter and overtime, the Warriors fielded a lineup featuring Curry, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, and rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis. Jackson-Davis, in particular, showcased an impressive performance, achieving his first double-double with 13 rebounds and 10 points in 28 minutes. His impactful block in overtime, deflecting Jaylen Brown’s layup, played a crucial role in preserving the Warriors’ four-point lead with 2:20 remaining.
Despite facing foul trouble, Curry contributed six points in overtime, finishing the game with 33 points and shooting 6-of-11 from 3-point range. Curry had three fouls against him by halftime, with Jaylen Brown aggressively challenging him in the second half. Curry returned in the fourth quarter, avoiding further fouls and inspiring a comeback. The Celtics, who had led by as much as 17 in the third quarter, couldn’t maintain their advantage.
Klay Thompson delivered a notable performance with 24 points, including six 3-pointers, while Jonathan Kuminga added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Looking ahead, the Warriors will continue their three-game homestand by welcoming Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards on Friday. Subsequently, they will face the Portland Trail Blazers before heading to Denver for a Christmas matchup against the Nuggets.
