‘New milestone’: Nikola Jokic moves up on the NBA all-time assists list

The Denver Nuggets are in New York on Friday evening to play the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.

Nikola Jokic created NBA history by rising up the all-time assist chart during the game.

Jokic has now surpassed Hall of Famer Tim Duncan (4,225) for 106th place on the list.

Following Duncan, Jokic will pass Eric Snow (4,245) and Kirk Hinrich (4,245) for 104th place.

In 28 games, Jokic averaged 26.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 53.9% from the field and 32.0% from three-point range.

The Nuggets are 19-10 in their first 29 games, enough for third place in the Western Conference.

They are 6-4 in their previous ten games and on a two-game winning streak.

The Nuggets most recently defeated the Toronto Raptors by a score of 114-103.

Jokic finished with 31 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks in 38 minutes of action, shooting 13/23 from the field and 3/5 from three-point range.

Following the Nets, the Nuggets will travel to North Carolina on Saturday to face the Charlotte Hornets.

Jokic is in his tenth season in the NBA (all with the Nuggets) and is often regarded as the league’s finest player.

The 2023 NBA Champion has career averages of 20.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 55.2% from the field and 34.7% from beyond the arc.
