Jordan Poole returned to Chase Centre on Friday night as the Golden State Warriors hosted the Washington Wizards. The game swiftly turned into a celebration of former comrade Steph Curry, despite the evening starting with a film montage honoring Poole. In 27 minutes or less, Curry became the first player in NBA history to finish with 30 points, 7 assists, and 8 made threes.
Curry played a little under 27 minutes because of the score, but he scored a lot in those few minutes. Curry became only the 15th player in NBA history to score at least 30 points and make eight three-pointers in 27 minutes or less, even without the assists. Nobody had ever done this and dished out seven assists before this game.
Curry scored his 75th career game with at least eight made threes, so even if this line was historic for him, it was simply another game for the legendary point guard. Naturally, this is the greatest number in NBA history; Damian Lillard, with 29 such games, is the next closest player.
Curry made at least eight three-pointers in less than thirty minutes for the 12th time in his career, more than twice as many as the next player closest to him on that list. To say that Curry is the greatest shooter of all time would be an understatement given how far ahead he is of any other player in basketball history.
