To quote Damian Lillard, “What will it take to get you in this car today?”
Yesterday, it was announced that the Trail Blazers star had bought a McMinnville Toyota dealership. Brian Sanders, who established the community organisation A Working Family’s Christmas, is his business partner.
The official name is “Damian Lillard Toyota,” but judging by how it sounds, it will serve more as a museum dedicated to Damian Lillard than anything else.
Rather than calling itself a dealership, the firm calls itself a “campus.” A Pop-a-Shot machine, pingpong tables, locally made “Letter O” doughnuts, video installations, and autographed memorabilia are among the amenities listed on the website. Additionally, it claims to alleviate some of the stress associated with purchasing a vehicle.
“We want you to receive the best possible pricing on vehicles without having to endure the typical process that everyone hates,” the website reads. “Just because you didn’t grow up haggling with street vendors for a living doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be entitled to the same kind of deal as someone who did.”
Regardless of your opinion on the matter, there are additional advantages to purchasing from the company. In the “Damian Lillard VIP Club,” customers will be entered to win “preferred access” to Lillard’s visits and events, as well as special offers for Trail Blazers and Timbers games, Yamhill County wineries, concerts (when they happen again), and McMinnville’s top attraction, the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. Moreover, every season, Lillard will choose 40 patrons to sit in the 100th level section of Moda Centre during a game.
