Brandin Podziemski had an immediate impact on the Golden State Warriors roster. The rookie winger has already won a starting berth and has impressed his veteran colleagues with his professionalism and dedication to improving his game.
Podziemski described his first few months in the NBA and how he’s been leaning on Steph Curry to absorb as much as he can from the superstar guard during a recent interview on the “Dubs Talk” podcast. Despite his success, the rookie was impressed by Curry’s modesty.
“I do ask (Curry) a lot of stuff, but I understand that he has a lot on his plate and a lot of other things besides helping the young guys to worry about, so I try to limit (asking questions) as much as I can,” Podziemski said. Nothing has wavered despite his success, even in games where he hasn’t played as well. It’s incredibly nice for me to be around and watch a star, an MVP, the best point guard in the NBA, having that about himself because, at the end of the day, that’s where I want to be. And I want to be humble like him.”
Podziemski’s ambition is likely to be to establish himself as a starter in Golden State’s rotation. His all-action play style, combined with his ability to make an impact on both sides of the court, makes him a tremendous addition to the squad.
Having a player like Curry to lean on, who can provide professional guidance while also leading by example, is a luxury that few teams can afford. As a result, it’s evident that Podziemski is making the most of his current advantageous situation.
