‘It does cater to the guys that can sell calls’ – Curry confident Warriors will beat Nuggets at home

The Warriors host the reigning champion Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, and Curry is expected to play because he is not listed on the injury report. Golden State’s most recent game was a loss to Denver on Christmas Day, in a game that sparked heated debate about refereeing.

Steve Kerr went on a viral rage about Jokic hitting too many free throws that day, and Curry agreed with some of what his coach said, saying after the game:

“It does cater to the guys that can sell calls,” Curry stated in a statement. “When there’s physicality, it’s difficult because the tone of the game can be inconsistent on either side at times.” Then it varies from game to game, which is the nature of basketball, but on a night like today, it feels like there’s physicality on one side and ticky-tack on the other. It’s just that consistency is essential when it comes to understanding how to defend. I understand what [Steve Kerr] is saying. Tonight was difficult. The entire game was slowed down. Obviously, [Jokic] made all of his free throws. It shifted the momentum into their favor. You have to modify until things change, which is annoying.”

It will be fascinating to see if Jokic receives the same calls as he did in that game, since, as Curry pointed out, it may vary from game to game.
