LeBron James, a respectable replacement for Rihanna in terms of star power, is Pharrell’s next Louis Vuitton commercial star. In terms of personal flair, perhaps less so, but, well, LeBron is one of the household names. These are all just single-name stars.
On October 24, billboards in New York featured LeBron’s first Louis Vuitton campaign, which was likely a lead-up to Pharrell’s second LV runway show in early 2024.
LeBron is seen in the pictures lifting one of Pharrell’s recognizable yellow LV Like Rihanna did earlier in the year, Speedy stuffs his sack over his should. Hey, it’s not broken, right?
Take note that LeBron is not sporting the million-dollar wonder that Pharrell wore around Paris all summer; instead, he is sporting one of the “ordinary” leather bags from the LV campaign.
LeBron is still a wise choice to succeed Rih-Rih.
Despite lacking Rihanna’s stylistic expertise, LeBron possesses the ubiquity, celebrity, and instant recognition necessary to create a similar “Oh shit” moment.
LeBron has a history of promoting LVMH luxury brands. He has served as an official spokesperson for the luggage brand RIMOWA and has personally walked the walk for brands like Tiffany and Dior.
