Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors’ sharpshooter, is gearing up for his first full season with ANTA after leaving Nike in February. When he returns to the court this autumn, he’ll be wearing his first signature shoe.
Thompson and ANTA unveiled the KT1 (working name) earlier today. The high-top is dressed in Dub Nation colors and has a distinctive textured upper, heel overlay, printed interior, and anatomical map outsole traction pattern. This pair also features a Golden State Warriors emblem on the tongue, a result of the brand’s agreement to become the NBA’s official partner and merchandiser in China last year.
We’re still waiting for information on the release date and pricing, so stay tuned for updates.
8/22 UPDATE: As promised, here is an intriguing update to this story. According to our Chinese sources, the sneaker seen here is not the ANTA KT1. It’s actually named the SharkWeb Control, which most likely refers to the technology utilized to build the top. ANTA and Thompson are finalizing the specifics for the actual KT1’s introduction.
