The latest NBA player to compliment rookie Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.
On Thursday, January 4, the French center and the two-time NBA MVP squared off as the Bucks defeated the Spurs 125-121.
Giannis Antetokounmpo awed by Wembanyama
Antetokounmpo was awed by the top pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, admitting that he had never seen anyone like Wemby.
“He’s an unbelievable talent. Can score at will, any time he wants,” Antetokounmpo said. “He plays the right way, plays to win. It was great playing against him.”
In the Bucks’ victory, the Greek Freak ended with a game-high 44 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
Wembanyama performed admirably in the defeat as well. The birthday kid finished with 27 points, nine rebounds, five blocks, and two three-pointers. A block against Antetokounmpo was one of those.
On Saturday, January 6, the Bucks will take on the Houston Rockets in an attempt to win consecutive games.
Conversely, the Spurs’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, January 7, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Right now, San Antonio has lost their last four games.
