Without a doubt, one of the league’s biggest stars is Luka Doncic, and trades involving those players are uncommon. Luka Doncic might be the next player on the list, though, as we have just witnessed the transfers of superstars like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

In an attempt to turn Kyrie Irving into the co-star who helps Luka Doncic win the title, the Dallas Mavericks acquired him before the trade deadline. But Kyrie Irving might wind up departing in free agency since the Dallas Mavericks haven’t been a great team. 

Luka Doncic might ask for a trade if his co-star decides to leave, since it was previously said that his future with the Mavericks would depend on Kyrie Irving staying with the organization. Naturally, Doncic might try to go somewhere he has a realistic chance of competing with a team built around him if the Mavericks are unable to keep Irving.

Fans have speculated a lot about Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic playing together on the Denver Nuggets, particularly since Jokic’s birthday party in February only invited Doncic and his fiancée, and those two people were the only ones not related to Jokic. The two celebrities obviously get along well with one another, and maybe that will lead to them working together. Additionally, some reports have indicated that it is more likely that Luka Doncic will join the Denver Nuggets than it is that they would do the opposite.

The Mavericks may need to include a second contract in the trade as well, depending on what Bruce Brown demands for his new deal.

Without a question, they would be an attacking force to be reckoned with. Luka Doncic is a player who can also relieve Nikola Jokic of some offensive responsibilities. Additionally, Doncic would provide Jokic with an excellent perimeter shot creator, and he outperforms Jamal Murray in late-game scenarios. Luka Doncic is currently scoring 32.9 points per game, 8.6 points per game, and 8.2 points per game for the Dallas Mavericks. His output is well worth the Denver Nuggets making a “Godfather offer” to the Mavericks.

Luka Doncic Gets A Good Package From The Dallas Mavericks

Despite the lack of significant draft compensation in this scenario, the Dallas Mavericks would undoubtedly have a strong base upon which to assemble their team if Luka Doncic leaves. They can certainly maintain their competitiveness because they still have a handful of their own future picks.

Jamal Murray is the important player the Dallas Mavericks would obtain in this deal, and he is presently putting up 20.1 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 6.1 APG for the Denver Nuggets. Some guards, like Jalen Brunson, have shown to improve when given greater chances; perhaps Jamal Murray can achieve the same results. With his high level of scoring and playmaking, he may be the best player on a playoff team. He would be the Dallas Mavericks’ first choice.

One of the league’s top 3PT shooting wing players, Michael Porter Jr. is averaging 17.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists a game this season. He also shoots an incredible 42.0% from three point range on 7.2 attempts. Even though he only sees limited action as the Denver Nuggets’ third option, if given the chance and touches to contribute, he might turn out to be another player that performs better on an individual basis.

In exchange for Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks would also receive Bruce Brown, Zeke Nnaji, and a first-round selection.
