The Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets played a fantastic game last night, with the former emerging triumphant. Sixers star Joel Embiid’s magnificent exhibition of talents not only won the game, but also surpassed the Jokers’ performance. By putting up 41 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds, the 6-time All-Star sealed the deal for his club and tipped the MVP award slightly in his favor.
However, the Serbian Sensation did not slack off in any manner. He recorded a double-double with 25 points, 19 rebounds, and 3 assists. So, while these two extraordinary athletes faced off, Stephen A. Smith conducted a thorough analysis of the two.
According to the data, Embiid is ahead of Jokic in points per game and equals him in rebounds despite playing 10 less games. However, Smith believes Jokic has no competition in terms of durability. He said, “Nobody can stop him, and I still can’t figure it out. “He’s just a big tub of lard who leans his body against you.”
Smith went on to compare Jokic to the Gypsy King Tyson Fury, saying, “Every time I think about Jokic, I think of Tyson Fury fighting Deonte Wilder.”
‘Even if I miss, I’ll just lean on him until his legs give out and he becomes a stationary target for me.'” That’s what Fury remarked after defeating Wilder in the trilogy, and Smith claims Jokic’s game style is similar.
The 28-year-old center is a huge man who weighs 284 pounds and, like Tyson Fury, lacks an athletic physique. Despite his large stature, he is able to tire opponents out and play long minutes.
In the 2019 playoffs against the Trail Blazers, he played 65 minutes and shown his incredible endurance. That’s what makes him a terrific player, and even Embiid recognizes this about Jokic, calling him the best player in the NBA.
