The Boston Celtics may have the NBA’s best record, but they were unable to contain Nikola Jokic. As a result, they could only tip their head to the current NBA Finals MVP.
Following the Nuggets’ victory over the Celtics on Friday, Jayson Tatum was asked about his experience protecting the two-time NBA MVP.
“He has great touch, great feel for the game,” Tatum was quoted as saying. “Obviously, he can score and pass like the best of them. Just provides numerous obstacles.”
Kristaps Porzingis, a Celtics player, could not stop raving about Jokic, calling him the finest player in the world.
“As I said before, he’s the best player in the world,” Porzingis said. “He’s so cunning that he almost makes you fall asleep as if he’s not doing anything, and then he slips past you. He is capable of performing numerous stunts and actions. Can make a lot of difficult shots that aren’t actually difficult for him because he’s been doing them for a while. You must live with them. He does these off-the-right-foot jumps. That’s what makes him who he is.
If Friday revealed anything about the prospective finals meeting between the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets, it would be an extremely entertaining series. The Celtics will have a very difficult time stopping Nikola Jokic in the NBA Finals.
