Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon of the Denver Nuggets made headlines this offseason for their summer shenanigans. The 2023 champions had gathered in Jokic’s hometown of Sambor, Serbia, to watch horse racing after a video of the event became popular. In the most recent episode of From the Point, one of their colleagues, Michael Porter Jr., revealed his summer plans after sharing their ideas.
Michael first described Jokic’s offseason, stating, “Joker is in Serbia all offseason.” “Drinking beer while watching horses.” It once again took the two-time MVP’s preferences to the forefront, as horses eclipsed basketball in the rankings. “He probably didn’t touch a basketball all off-season and somehow got better,” said the 25-year-old.
Regarding Gordon’s journey to Europe, he previously noted, “He is the ultimate teammate.” He’s a laid-back man. Later, Porter Jr. reiterated the point, praising the power forward’s bravery in justifying his decision. “He’s just a free spirit, so he pulled up to Serbia,” the Nuggets rookie stated before revealing his summer intentions.
Reflecting on Nikola Jokic’s summer activities.
After winning Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals, Nikola was more concerned with getting home than anything else. The primary incentive for this was to watch horse racing in his hometown on weekends. “On Sundays, I have my horse racing,” the 28-year-old famously stated during the post-game interview. The center even wanted to arrive early by using the team’s President, Josh Kroenke’s private jet.
“I think Imma try to get out there next year and see what y’all guys have going on,” the 6’10 star stated, expressing his desire to follow in Aaron’s footsteps. Gordon’s feedback after his stay had a significant impact, as Michael commented, “He tells me like it’s fun out there.” “The nightlife is way better than it is over here,” the Indiana native remarked, emphasizing, “Imma go party with Joker.”
