“I am thrilled that many of the game’s superstars have expressed interest in representing our country at the 2024 Olympic Summer Games. The United States has unbelievable basketball talent,” Hill stated. “Choosing the team that will support us in our quest to return to the top of the Olympic podium is an honor. Head coach Steve Kerr (Golden State Warriors) will be supported by Tyronn Lue (L.A. Clippers), Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat), and Mark Few (Gonzaga University) for the 2024 USA Men’s National Team. During the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Manila, the foursome led the USA Basketball Men’s National Team to a fourth-place result. After helping Gregg Popovich in Tokyo as an assistant coach, Kerr won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics.

As part of the USA Basketball Showcase, USA Basketball also revealed that the 2024 USA Men’s National Team will play Canada at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Live on FS1, the exhibition match is scheduled for July 10 at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET.

A number of games are played during the USA Basketball Showcase to assist the USA Basketball National Teams in getting ready for important tournaments like the FIBA World Cup and the Olympic Summer Games.

After Las Vegas, the Americans will begin an overseas training window that includes exhibition matches at the O2 Arena in London on July 22 versus Germany and South Sudan’s national sides.

Tickets for all three contests are on sale now at www.usab.com/tickets.

β€œUSA Basketball is excited to return to Las Vegas as our men’s national team program looks forward to tipping off the journey to the 2024 Olympic Games there in July,” said Jim Tooley, USA Basketball CEO. β€œThe game at T-Mobile Arena against Canada is an important opportunity in our preparations and a great opportunity for our fans to support the U.S. national team before heading overseas.”

The USA will hold training camp in Las Vegas, their longstanding training center, before to the Canada game. A later time will be notified with more details.

As one of the top two teams from the FIBA Americas zone at the 2023 FIBA World Cup in September, the USA formally qualified for the 2024 Olympics. The American men are vying for their 17th consecutive and fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.

At the 2024 Olympic Summer Games, USA Basketball will field four teams: three-on-three men’s and five-on-five men’s and women’s. With the exception of 3Γ—3 men, who will compete in their first Olympics next summer, the USA now leads the world in both 5Γ—5 men and women as well as 3Γ—3 women.  We’ll release more details about each of the four USA Basketball squads later on.
