Having led the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA Championship, Nikola Jokić is ecstatic. His responsibilities following the NBA Championship haven’t delighted him as much. He desires to return home.
The NBA Finals MVP, Jokić, outscored the Heat in Game 5 and sealed the championship. His play during the postseason has been outstanding, and his performance on Monday night was the cherry on top.
Not an NBA parade, but a return to Serbian horses is what Nikola Jokic truly wants.
In Denver, the jubilation began the moment the last buzzer rang. Jokić rushed straight to the throng and joined his family in celebrating.
Clearly, the Jokic brothers were having a great time.
Then, amid all the commotion, Jokić grabbed his daughter and joined him on the court.
Later, he had a unique moment with his two NBA Finals trophies, his wife, and her.
He shared the post-game pictures with his brothers as well.
The celebration then got underway. Jokić threw Jamal Murray into the pool to start things off.
As thrilled as Jokić was at the time, though, reality began to sink in.
An NBA Championship is much more than just the celebration that follows the game. While Jokić’s excitement didn’t exactly fade, there was undoubtedly a sense of exhaustion.
He made the decision to address his phone malfunctioning later on.
Jokić was ecstatic even after the game was over. Not only did he prevail, but he may now go back to Serbia.
When questioned on Thursday about the title parade, he expressed the same opinion.
Jokić is not anticipating it. The call is from Serbia. All he wants to do is get home.
Jokić showed little passion even during the celebration in the changing room.
All through the night, his horses were on his mind.
Thankfully, Jokić was able to reclaim part of his culture in Denver thanks to the Nuggets.
Jokić may have missed Serbia even more, but he got a taste of what he is missing. All he wants to do is get home.
